About Diana Palotas
Diana Palotas, WCEOhq producer and co-host of the CEO Hour, is an accomplished television and radio news anchor, reporter, writer and producer. Throughout her long and varied years in media, she's had the privilege of telling many different kinds of stories, from business news, to medical breakthroughs, to murder trials. The American Journalism Foundation chose her to represent the television media for a cultural exchange program in Tokyo, Japan in 1998. Palotas covered the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles in 2000, and the launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery at Cape Canaveral in 2007. She spent a good portion of her career at Time Warner Cable's 24-hour news channel, R News, in Rochester, NY.
Diana graduated from Gannon University in Erie, PA with a Communications/English degree. She makes her home with her family in Rochester, NY.
About Mary Coombs
Mary Coombs currently is the Chief Operating Officer of WCEOHQ, LLC. In that position she runs the day-to-day operations and directs the marketing efforts to assist in the growth of WCEOHQ.Mary began her career in 1979, with the Rochester Products Division of General Motors. There she held a series of managerial positions spanning nine years including General Supervisor of Die Cast and Machining Operations, Industrial Engineering, and Employee Education and Training. Mary was responsible for over 250 United Auto Workers and General Motors salaried employees.
Mary and her husband Michael co-founded Coombs Productions, Inc in 1986 and developed it into a successful marketing agency, Coombs Marketing, which has been recognized on the Fortune 500 list of fastest-growing privately held businesses. Since the partnership of Coombs, she has earned a number of marketing, branding, web, and business television awards, and consulting contracts.
Mary is an accomplished producer of media events and a team leader in all aspects of special event management and production. She co-created a satellite industry symposium for major corporations using satellite technology to communicate with their customers and employees. Clients include: Toys "R" Us, New York Life, ITVA Foundation, Weight Watchers of America, Xerox, Novell and Toro. Mary directed the Coombs team through brand execution for Xerox Global Services and Duke Power Business Services, and re-branding efforts at Duke Energy Corporate.
Mary graduated from St. John Fisher College and resides in Charlotte, NC with her family.
About Derek Vanderlinde
Derek began his thirty-five year career in business after receiving a BA and MBA from Columbia University. He spent seven years in Corporate Finance at Drexel Burnham Lambert in New York City working in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, public offerings and consulting. In 1977 he returned to Rochester where he became CEO of a family business that produced average revenues of $10,000,000 and executed commercial and industrial electrical contracting projects throughout the eastern half of the U.S.
In 2004, Derek decided to pursue a passion that he has had for years and became a Principal of the CEOHQ Fellows organization.
Currently, Derek is a Sr. Facilitator for an Executive Forums of Upstate NY Group of CEOs.
Derek also has extensive experience as a board member in the not-for-profit sector where he currently serves on the boards of The Susan B. Anthony House and The Mt. Hope Family Center and has served in the past on The Allendale Columbia School (Chair) and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra boards.
